I recently spent a delightful week at Playa Selva Villa, nestled in the quieter southern part of Tulum. While the beach access is a definite perk, it's the overall balance of luxury and value that caught my attention. The hotel gives off a relaxed, boutique vibe rather than the typical resort atmosphere, which I personally appreciate. One of the best aspects was the communal kitchen, allowing us to prepare some meals, which saved us a good chunk of change considering Tulum's sometimes steep dining prices. It's a small touch, but it makes a notable difference in managing costs. The service was commendable; Pepe and Mauricio went out of their way, providing a private tour of local cenotes that genuinely enriched our experience. There were also free toiletries, which, while a small detail, is noteworthy when budgeting your travel expenses. Playa Selva strikes an admirable balance between comfort and affordability—especially for those who want a cozy escape from the hustle but still close to lively scenes. A wise choice all around for your next getaway.
